Most people think happiness is a destination & they say to themselves they will be happy when certain things happen or are completed.
This could be, "I will be happy when I win the lottery" or "I will be happy when I finish my degress" or I will be happy I lose 20 lbs in weight".
The challenge with this is that it never works as we then look for the next thing we need to make us happy, etc.
Reframing what happiness is, from a destination to a journey, made such a difference for me & instantly made me feel happier.
If we change "I will be happy when I lose 20 lbs" to "I will be happy as I exercise 3 times a week & eat healthy food" changes the goal from a destination to a journey.
Most goals happen over time & this allows us to be happy with the journey rather than the destination.
Try this for yourself by making a list of the goals or changes you need to be happier.
Then reframe each one into a journey & notice how your happiness increases as you do this.
